Delete your data, keep your Xodos account

Ask us to delete specific personal data while your Xodos account stays open. Some records have to stay while you're a customer, and this page explains which.

How it works

  1. Step 1: Choose what to delete

Tick the data you want gone. If it's something else, choose "Something else" and describe it in your email. We'll tell you whether we can delete it.

  2. Step 2: Email us your request

Send it from the email address registered to your account. You don't need to sign in or reinstall the app.

  3. Step 3: Confirm it's you

We'll reply to confirm your account email and ask for one other detail linked to your account, so nobody else can delete your data.

  4. Step 4: We delete it and confirm

We'll confirm in writing within 30 days (45 days for California residents). If we can't delete something, we'll explain why.

What we keep while your account is open

We need this data to run your account or are required by law to keep it, so it can't be deleted while you're a customer. You can still ask us to correct anything that's wrong.

Identity and verification data
ID documents, selfie and liveness checks, BVN or NIN. Anti-money-laundering law requires them for as long as your account is open.
Contact details
We need them to run your account and reach you. You can ask us to correct them at any time.
Bank, transaction and portfolio records
Needed to hold, trade and pay out your investments, and required by tax and capital markets rules.
AML screening and monitoring
Required by anti-money-laundering law.
Security logs
Used to protect your account from fraud. Kept up to 24 months.
Customer support and complaints records
Kept for at least 3 years from when a complaint is resolved.
